A Creative's Guide to Getting More Out of One Photoshoot

One photoshoot shouldn't give you one Instagram post.

It should give you content for weeks.

Before a shoot, think beyond the obvious hero shots. What else could you use?

A few simple examples:

  • A Reel introducing your business

  • Behind-the-scenes footage

  • Product or service demonstrations

  • Headshots

  • Website images

  • Detail shots

  • Team photos

  • Talking-head clips

  • Short educational videos

  • Instagram Stories

  • B-roll for future Reels

  • Content announcing a new service

  • A “day in the life” style video

The trick is planning for content pillars, rather than just taking pretty pictures.

You can then batch-create everything while you're already set up, dressed, in the right location and in the creative mindset.

One shoot can become your website refresh, a month's worth of social content and a library of footage you can keep coming back to.

So before your next shoot, don't just ask:

“What photos do I need?”

Ask:

“What could I create from this?”

That's where things get much more interesting.
